Meet Theresa Hurley
September 21, 2018
The time has come for our little Salisbury Sewing Studio to branch out and help our amazing students grow! Over the next few weeks we will be introducing you to our new teachers who have joined the SA Team and we couldn't be more proud to have Theresa Hurley joining us to kick off our Quilting Basics Course!
Theresa is married with 3 grown up children and has been sewing for as long as she can remember - always allowed to use the sewing machine, used to make matching clothes for herself and her dolls, her foundations in sewing are strong and grounded.
Making her first quilt when her daughter was a baby (she’s almost 30!), like so many of us Theresa made almost all of her kids clothes when they were little and has experienced so many sides of sewing, but quilting is her passion.
Theresa has been teaching patchwork, quilting, machine embroidery for more than 20 years and spent many years teaching at a local and much loved institution. Her passion for long arm quilting for a has developed over the past years and he is now the proud own of a Bernina Q24 long arm quilting machine. She simply adores being able to turn unfinished quilt tops into amazing quilts and runs her own small business Sewn Together!
With a love of modern bright floral fabrics and designs that are slightly ‘eclectic’ Theresa counts her favourite quilt designers as Jen Kingwell and Elizabeth Hartmann and her fabric designer crushes as Alison Glass, Kaffe Fasset and Tilda.
We welcome Theresa to the Sewing Adventures Studio with open arms and are so looking forward to her teaching her love of quilting and patchwork skills with our students.
