Have you wanted to learn how to quilt and do patchwork? Our new course with our amazing teacher Theresa will take through all the learning lessons to put together your own quilt from start to finish.
Theresa will teach you about safe rotary cutting, mastering a 1/4” seam and constructing your quilt blocks and you will go on to trimming the blocks and joining them together. From there you learn how to add a border and how to baste your quilt top.
All this can be done on your domestic sewing machine and you will learn the basics of straight line quilting and finish with trimming and binding your finished quilt.
Along the way you will master all of the techniques to ensure a professional finish including learning about fabrics and quantities required, piecing techniques and perfect pressing.

You will need to bring/supply:
Your sewing machine although we do offer the hire of studio machines if required the cost is $10/class
Quality quilting fabric is required for the class and more information will be provided after booking.
Pins, bobbins, dressmaking shears, thread etc.
Quilting tools including ruler, cutting mat and rotary cutter.
Skill level required:
This course is designed for novice quilters and we start right at the very beginning. You should have good basic sewing skills and want to learn a host of useful information about the world of quilting then this is the course for you!
